Nuuhoo Goobanaa- Yoo Du’ellee hin gaabbu

Ijjoo Dubbii :

Qabsoon Oromoo ta Bilisummaa Oromiyaaf uummani Oromoo waggota kurnan sadihi oliif godha jiru, nama heddu nyaate, nama heddus horte – diinaafi firaas jechu. Karaan deemsa isi ammoo dheerate laga Awaashillee caale. Haa ta’uu ammoo, Injifannoolleen qabsoon suni fiddes waa takka lama hin taane.


Ammaan tana, diinnii ilmaan Oromoo yeroo bulmaata isa dheerefachufi gabrummaa Uummatotaa biyyatti irra tursiisuuf bara baraan toofta dabaa jijjijira roorroo fi hiyyummaan nama fixa jira. Namni barate hojji hin argatu, midhaan facasaan lafti maseente hin baaftu, ka qotee galfate gurgurate gaatii hin baasu, lafti qonaan dhumtee warii looni bakka dheeda dhabeera.

Muka mukumaan muran akkuma jedhamu hunda, Mootummaan Abbaa Irree Itoopiyaa kan gita bituu Wayyanneen durfamus, Oromoota garaa ofiif bulan ofitti qabun, Oromooman Oromoo bita jira. Qabsoon Oromoo ta Adda Biliisaa baastootan geggefamtu ammoo taliiga mudate – tabaroo enyummaattu nura mulqa jirti.

Bari qabsoo dheeratefi sochiin gahan dhabamuun, qabsayoota gammeyyii hunda abdi kutachiisa dhufeera. Artiin Oromoo warraaqsafi sabbonummaa Oromoo shafisiisu irratti shoora ol’aana qaba. Keessan bara sagaltamoota keessaa, hamileefi soor-qalbi nama ka tin’insee bara dabarse, wallelee fi dhaadannoo Artistoota Oromootti.

Walakeessa bara-kumee lammaffaa (mid 2000s) kaase, Artistooni lamshayuu qabsoo Oromoo kanatti gaddan, deebi’ani biyyatti gala jiraachun waan aduun itti baate. Hangafticha Artistootaa Oromoo fi qaroo ilmaa Oromoo kan ta’ee Alii Birraatuu kara amba bane. Qamar Yusuf ka kaalessaa “Yaa Hinjiree mataa, lakki bu’ii narraa” jedhe barooda turettu itti aane. Artistooni biroos ka deemani gad-deebi’an imma jiran.


Biyyaa ofitti galuun dhoorga ta’ee miti. Akka itti galantu garaa nama nyaata. Miilana (miila kana) ammoo Nuuhoo Muhammaad Gobaanaa tu galee jetti simbirti. Artist Nuuhoo Gobaanaa, “Yaa Galana Jiru, Qotee Bulaa, Tokkummaaa, Alaabaa Oromiyaa, Finfinnee, Minow Meles Minow fi geerarsoota adda adda” ka ani lakkayee keessa hin baneen, waggotaa kurnyaa sadiihi oliif qabsoo tana farsa – tin’insaa – osoo hin hifatin – osoo hin duroomin – osoo bulti dhabbaatu hin godhatin, haar’a gaye.


Hidhamee gaafata dhabe. Faranjiin fuute furguugate – dhukubsatee yaala dhabe. Nu dirmaadha osoo jedhe bookisu rakkate nama birmaatuuf dhabe. Eee bada jiru. Eee bada qabsoo. Eee bada nama. Ilmii nama yooma du’e – jaalatama.


Namnii qabsoo Oromoof bara dheera dhukkubsatee, itti miidhamee, maatiin addan bahe, booddeen akkana laata? Saba fi qabsayoonni dhaga’uu didani, diinnii kaleessa tumsaa nama kennuun waan duri dullee jiru laata? Yeroo Nuhoo Gobaanaa naf dirmaadha jedhee, namuu bira hin dhaabbanne, namu gurraa hin laannef. “Dhufaan jira biyyaa too” jedhe baroode dadhabe kunoo galee yoo du’ellee tana achi hin gaabu nun jedha, Nuhoo Gobaanaa. Ni jaalatama moo ni jibbama laataa?

I have the utmost respect for Oromo Artists. The above editorial is not by any means intended to criticize or devalue Nuhoo or someone else’s decision to return to Oromia. Rather to initiate a discussion on an issue that is less talked about outside of our homes in our Diaspora communities. Also, maybe a plea to reachout to those amongst us who are most in need – especially those who gave up everything in the name of Oromo Liberation Movement.
